Privacy policy

This website works without cookies and without cross-site tracking. We only process personal data where it is needed to run the website or where you actively give us data, for example when you write to us or try Premium. The legal basis is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG). The German versionis legally binding.

1. Controller

Nico Markus Hebenstreit
Giselhergasse 5/4/22, 1150 Vienna, Austria
E-mail: [email protected]

More details are in the legal notice.

2. Hosting and server logs

The website is delivered through Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit it, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data: IP address, time, requested address, referrer and browser identifier. This serves delivery and protection against attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and fast operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and we have a data processing agreement with Cloudflare. The website sets no cookies; Cloudflare may set technically necessary cookies to fend off attacks.

3. Fonts and content

Fonts, images and scripts of this website are served from our own server; the only exception is the Plausible analytics script (see section 4). No data is sent to Google Fonts or other font services when you visit a page.

4. Analytics with Plausible

To understand which content is read, we use Plausible Analytics (Plausible Insights OÜ, Tartu, Estonia). Plausible sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses. A hash that changes daily is formed from the IP address and browser identifier, so visitors cannot be recognised across days or websites. It records, for example, pages viewed, referrer, country, device type and button clicks. The data is processed in the EU. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in privacy-friendly audience measurement (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

5. Trial and purchase via Freemius

Trials and purchases of Strikewise Premium run through Freemius, Inc. (USA), which handles payment, invoicing and licensing as reseller. The Freemius checkout is only loaded when you click “try” or “buy”. Freemius processes the data you enter there to fulfil the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) under its own privacy policy.

Freemius is based in the USA. According to its privacy policy, Freemius relies on the Standard Contractual Clauses of the European Commission (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR) for transfers of personal data from the EU.

6. Contact by e-mail

If you write to us, we process your details to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). We delete them when they are no longer needed and no retention obligation applies.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Just write to[email protected].

You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Austria this is the Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.
